Description
A real photo postcard of a third prize entry for the Mission San Gabriel in the Tournament of Roses parade, Pasadena, Photo Card Company, 1921. The image shows about ten persons in Indian, missionary, and "Spanish" costumes next to and on the float, covered in flowers and greenery and with a replica of the mission's well-known belfry. At the top right may be Mission Play principal dancers and choreographers, Juan Zorraquinos and Juanita Vigare Zorraquinos. The unused card has album paper residue, a creased lower left corner, another crease at the upper left, and soiling and is in good overall condition.
