Description
A real photo postcard of C.P. Van Alst standing near an orange grove, Los Angeles, 21 November 1905. The image shows the subject wearing a dark coat, trousers and shows, a lighter-colored vest, a black and white checked tie and a black hat. Behind him are a few orange trees and a small part of a house. A message to the side to a sister in New York noted that he could see snow on the mountains from his address at San Pedro Street and 9th Street in downtown Los Angeles. With silvering, the postmark bleeding through to the image, heavy browning, fading, small stains, soiling and rubbing, the overall condition is fair to poor.
