Description
A real photo postcard of earthquake damage at Inglewood, California, 21 June 1920. The view is from an elevated position and shows an intersection and points removed along a commercial district in the town. The facades of three buildings had collapsed and rubble is noted below the structures, including the Hotel Inglewood at the corner on the right. A line of people observes a few men appear to pore through the rubble. The word Earthquake and date are in black above the row of buildings. The Newport-Inglewood fault was discovered after the 4.9 quake and the same fault was responsible for the 1933 Long Beach tremor, as well. The unused card has some minor soiling and abrasions, but is in good overall condition.
