Description

A real photo postcard of the Angels Flight Railway, Los Angeles, ca. 1920s. The view shows two cars navigating the steep funicular incline on the south side of Third Street, of which the tunnel under Bunker Hill is at the right. The Ferguson Building and Hurlburt Apartments are two of the four multistory structures lining the path of the railway, the observation tower to which is at the upper right. A streetcar, automobiles and some pedestrians are also of note. A caption in white at the bottom reads, "Angels Flight Los Angeles, Cal." The unused card has an AZO stamp box, dating the card to between 1918 and 1930. With a few very small stains, edge abrasions and light soiling, the condition is good.
