Description
A real photo postcard of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles, ca. 1920s. The view shows the eleven-story building with a central core and two wings and which was completed in 1914, financed by BIOLA founder Lyman Stewart of Union Oil Company. After the institute moved to La Mirada in 1959, the structure was occupied by other churches but was demolished in 1988 due to damage from the 1987 Northridge earthquake. A caption is at the bottom left and the card, made in Germany, is unused. With minor soiling, darkening of the image, and edge abrasion, the condition is good.
