Description
A real photo postcard of the first prize winner for the 1905 La Fiesta de Los Angeles decoration competition. The facade of Cunningham, Curtis and Welch store on Spring Street has been supplemented by a sidewalk covering in the style of a mission chapel. An arched walkway for pedestrians to pass underneath and bells set into niches on the facade with a fake brick and plaster finish. The bases of the columns are painted with palm trees. Next door is a steamship office with a list of ticket prices. The card includes a velox postage stamp box. The item is in good condition with minor discoloration overall.
