Description
A real photo postcard of the Los Angeles Times building after a bombing, dated 4 September 1910. The image is taken from across the street and shows the heavily damaged and burned-out structure. A banner hangs from the second floor and there appear to be crowds of people down the street past the building and others in the foreground. The number "9" is written in white ink at the lower left. A message on the reverse refers to "the accident or explosion," the cause, a terrorist attack by socialists, not yet being known. The date of the note happens to be the anniversary of the first issue published by the paper in 1881. With scratches, creases, soiling, and edge abrasions, the overall condition is fair.
