Description
A real photo postcard of two women posing with oranges in a studio portrait, Flagg Studio, Pasadena, ca. 1900s. The woman at right, wearing a darker print dress, sits in an elevated position, holds a small basket of fruit in her lap and has her hand extended to an orange on a tree. The other woman in a white blouse and skirt holds an orange in her right hand. At the lower left is a sign with the common saying of the day: "I'll Eat Oranges for You / You Throw Snowballs For Me," contrasting California with the eastern states. The studio cartouche is imprinted at the lower right. The unused card has some silvering to the image, stains, soiling and edge abrasions, it in fair condition.
