Description
A real photo postcard panorama of Inglewood, California, postmarked 24 June 1908. The view may be from atop a church and takes in an intersection with some open lots, houses, and landscape. An ink message at the bottom and reverse notes that a parsonage was built behind a church, indicating the photo was taken from the latter. The message also mentions the sender bought sixteen acres "southwest of here on the auto road from LA. to Redondo" from a Mr. Freeman, this almost certainly being Daniel Freeman, owner of the Centinela ranch and founder of Inglewood, and who died in 1918. There is also an Inglewood postmark on the card which has some staining on the reverse. With moderate staining, fading, and overall discoloration, the object is in fair condition.
