Description

A real photo postcard, "Shrine Auditorium, Los Angeles, Cal.," postmarked 18 February 1927. The view takes in the front (west) and south elevations of the structure, which opened in January 1926 at the northeast corner of Jefferson Boulevard and Royal Street across from the University of Southern California. The Moorish-style architecture includes domed towers at two corners, pointed arches, ornamented balconies and other details. The title is at the upper right in white lettering. A short message is on the reverse of the postally used card, which has an abrasion at the top right near the margin, soiling and minor edge rubbing, so the overall condtion is fair.
