Description
A real photo postcard, "Vista del Mar," Hollywood, 25 April 1908. The view shows the unusual Mission Revival mansion set amidst a lavishly landscaped large lot with terraced planters, a variety of trees, bushes and shrubs, detached buildings and other elements. In the background are the Hollywood Hills and the structure's name is in ink at the bottom. A message on the back from Minnie DeMarest noted that she was living at the house. Item .2 of the accession shows DeMarest at her south Los Angeles house two years later. With moderate fading, yellowing, a small stain or two, light soiling and minor rubbing, silvering on edge, the overall condition is fair.
