Description

A real photographic postcard, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, California, ca. 1920s. A birds eye view of the Hollywood area up to the hill with the Bernheimer Japanese mansion and grounds, which was recently the site of Yamashiro Restaurant. The view leads down a main boulevard to a castle like mansion (belonging to Rollin B. Lane, currently used for the Academy of Magical Arts) at the bottom of the hill. On both sides of this major street, Orange Drive, are several large homes mostly obscured by large trees planted on the sidewalks. In the distance, more residences can be seen dotting the hillside. The postcard was adhered to a black album sheet. With minor warping and discoloration, the object is in good condition overall.
