Description
A real photographic postcard of the Montrose fire, 13 October 1923. The postcard depicts a broad view of the hills above Montrose with smoke covering much of the sky. The reverse has an inscription written in pen with a long narrative about the fire. It burnt for three days in an area of ten square miles. The writer appears to be a fire fighter who had a crew working on putting out the fire. He further describes a few other electrical fires in nearby areas, including Eagle Rock. The photograph was taken by Rice Sunland. The postcard has minor water damage to the right edge and other discoloration with minor warping. It is in fair condition.
