Description

A receipt (a) and envelope (b) from Felipe Rodriguez and Francisca González de Rodriguez to Francisca Valenzuela, 26 November 1904. The document, in Walter P. Temple's hand, concerns the borrowing of $100 and the promise to pay back the money within a year at 12% annual interest, with interst payable every three months. The couple signed the form and Francisca appears to be a half-sister of Laura González, whose biological mother was Valenzuela. The envelope reads "Note of Temple and Rodriguez," which presumes Temple provided the money on his mother-in-law's behalf. With folds, a fingerprint mark, and light soiling, the document is in good condition, while the envelope is in fair condition with a large vertical crease, smaller creases, and soiling.
