Description

A Leap Year letter to Francis W. Temple, 27 February 1884. These missives, sent without the signature of the writer, were to a man the woman could usually only approach this directly about marriage during a leap year and specifically at the end of February. The content, typically, praises the quality of the recipient and expresses the love, devotion and commitment to marriage of the sender. The unknown writer follows this pattern and asks "Franck" to marry him, though he did not accpet. With near complete separation along a fold, embrittled, a small stain, and some soiling, torn top half (a) and bottom portion (b), the condition is fair.
