Description
A release of mortgage by Antonia Margarita Workman de Temple to John H. Temple, 23 April 1883. The document refers to the mortgage executed on 13 September 1880 (see item .81 of this accession) between the mother and son and for a loan of $1,000 payable in two years and which was released by her on condition that he not sell the property during her lifetime without her consent. The document was signed by an "x" because Mrs. Temple was illiterate and it was witnessed by J. J. Warner, who also prepared the affixed notice of her appearance. With folds, a dog-eared corner on the notice and light soiling, the condition is good.
