Description

A reprint photograph of a car from the East Los Angeles and Main Street Railway, ca. 1890s. The photo shows the vehicle over an embankment with his crushed front end lying in what appears to be the Los Angeles River bed. Dead beneath the car is the horse that was drawing it on the track. A group of men stands atop the bluff surveying the scene. An ink inscription on the reverse discusses the scene, but there are no other marks or inscriptions as to photographer or owner. With minor soiling and warping, the condition is good.
