Description
A reprint photograph of a horse-drawn vehicle parked in front of the Pico House, C. C. Pierce Collection. The photo, said to have been originally taken about 1884, shows four horses hitched to the open buggy, which has about eight passengers and the driver. On the side of the conveyance are the words "Sierra Madre Villa" and "Pasadena." A sign for the hotel is at the upper right and an open window at the left has the words "Cigars" and "Tobacco" under it and some men stand in the doorway of the building and the sidewalk in front. A pencil inscription and the Pierce stamp are on the reverse. With warping of the paper and light soiling, creasing and abrasions, the condition is good.
