Description
A reprint photograph of the first train of the Los Angeles and Pacific Railway to Santa Monica, 1 April 1896, C. C. Pierce Collection. The photo shows four cars on the electric line stopped next to a row of trees and a dirt road. On this latter is a large crowd of children and adults who disembarked from the cars. A pencil inscription and the Pierce stamp are on the reverse. With curvature of the paper, some staining at the bottom and light soiling, creasing and abrasions, the condition is good.
