Description

A reprinted portrait photograph of F.P.F. Temple, ca. 1920s. The image is a shot of Temple (1822-1880) of most of his torso and head and shows him wearing a dark suit coat, vest, cravat and white shirt. The original was likely taken in the first half of the 1870s, but at the bottom right corner is "S.P. Portrait Co. 1892," while "Mullender LA" is in pencil at the bottom right of the folio and a Mullender stamp is at the upper left of opened folio. The image was used in John Steven McGroarty's 1921 book "Los Angeles: From the Mountains to the Sea," as item .2 notes. There is pest damage to the tissue, warping and light silvering of the photo, edge bumping and tears to the folio, but the conditon is good overall.
