Description

A RESIDENTIAL FENCE FROM DUBOIS WOVEN WOOD FENCE PAMPHLET Color: Black; White A photograph of a residential perimeter fence from a pamphlet for Dubois Woven Wood fences, ca. 1920s. The horizontal image shows the back of a two-story home with a Dubois woven perimeter fence in the foreground. At the center is a narrow entrance, probably a driveway with the fence flanking it. The fence is made of thin poles, pointed at the top and held together by four or five woven horizontal sections of bracing on the other side, as seen in item .7. The home has a pitched roof on the main part of the structure, with a one-story addition at the back, also with a pitched roof. Several trees are at the rear of the house, as well. A caption at the bottom reads "SERVICE YARDS ARE EFFICIENTLY AND ARTISTICALLY SCREENED." At the lower left is the inscription "Dubois Woven Wood Fence / Made in France," while at the lower right is "Robert C. Reeves Co. / New York." There appears to be little wear or damage to the artifact, which is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
