Description
A real photo postcard of a rose-bedecked carriage at a Hollywood, California parade, 1 May 1899. The image, taken from a dirt road in a rural area, shows a floral basket atop a flatbed wagon pulled by horses. Inside the basket are about eight young women wearing bonnets. Some crepe or other light material is also used on the basket handles. A message on the reverse noted that 7,000 roses were used on the float. With smudging at the top left of the image, soiling and edge rubbing, the overall condition is fair.
