2013.791.1.1Description
A sample ballot, Primary Nominating Election, City of Los Angeles, 3 May 1921. The printed form has the name of candidates for mayor; city attorney; city auditor; board of education; and city council, and also lists four propositions. Among the six candidates running for mayor was Boyle Workman, grand-nephew of William Workman. He wound up winning a council seat, serving for eight years, some as president of the body, before losing the 1929 campaign for mayor and retiring from politics. Several pencil marks are on the ballot, as well. With tears along folds and the edges, a puncture mark, browning and fragility, the condition is poor.Lexicon
