Description
A San Gabriel Wine Co. Inc. one gallon glass wine jug, ca. 1880. The jug is composed of clear glass with a mold cast line on both sides. The bottle has a wide body, narrow neck with screw top tread lines and two small handles on each side of the neck. It is also embossed with decoration on all sides. There are grapevines hanging on trellisses on the sides of each face. The front has a circle in the middle featuring the face of a bear surrounded by the company's name, "San Gabriel Wine Co. Inc. / New York / Trademark." The back of the bottle includes the company's name and another bear face. The bottom has "wine" embossed along with a diamond inside a circle alongside a few numbers. The bottle is in good condition.
