Description
A snapshot of a sand and gravel plant near Irwindale and Azusa, ca. 1929. The view shows the structure at the right with a railroad track descending from it toward the photographer. Small cars with dumpers on them are on the track. At the left is an electric streetcar. In the distance are parts of the San Gabriel Mountains tapering off into what is certainly San Gabriel Canyon. On the reverse is a pencil inscription: "San Gabriel River Gravel pit." With minor soiling, warping, and yellowing, the condition is good.
