Description
A snapshot of a delivery truck of the California Oil and Asphalt Company, ca. 1919. The view is taken from across a residential street and shows the vehicle parked in front of some houses. A man and boy stand in the open cap of the truck, which has a long tank in the open bed, on the side of which is the company name and location of Vernon, California, where the distillery was located. The firm was formed in May 1916 and capitalized at $50,000 with G. J. Syminton as president, F. R. Kellogg as secretary and Arthur M. Ellis as a contact during the years 1918-21. With some soiling, fading, edge abrasion and album paper residue of the reverse, the overall condition is good.
