Description

A snapshot of a film shoot aboard a barge, Los Angeles area, ca. 1920s. The view shows two cameras and crew aboard a tugboat with a sign labeled "Crescent" in the foreground. Labeled in pencil on the reverse as "No. 9," Further back in shallow water are several persons who seem to have "fallen" from the barge, which has a two-story set on it and people milling about on both levels. In the distance is a sandy beach with people and canoes on it. On the reverse is a pencil inscription that identifies "star" Katherine William[s} and the film as "His Neighbor" but no information has been found about this movie, though a Katherine Williams (1908-1992) was in films in the early 1930s. With some soiling and abrasions along the edge, the general condition is good.
