Description

A snapshot of a Woman's Christian Temperance Union float at the Tournament of Roses parade, Pasadena, ca. 1920s. The flower-bedecked car has the organization's initials, "WCTU" on it and a woman in a long gown holds her arms aloft under an arched trellis with the words "VICTORY" in flowers at the top—probably a reference to Prohibition. Children holding white ribbons attached to the corners of the float walk alongside. Crowds in the foreground and across the street pack the sidewalks and portions of commercial buildings are in view in the distance. With minimal soiling and rubbing, the condition is good.
