Description
A snapshot of a wrecked oil tanker truck at Puente, California, 22 February 1927. The image shows the vehicle lying on its right side along the side of a road, perhaps Valley Boulevard (then also known as Pomona Boulevard.) The logo of the Richfield oil company (now ARCO or Atlantic Richfield) is on the back of both tanks and a man, probably the driver, sits atop the front tank. An automobile, some trees and structures in the distance are also in view. A pencil inscription on the reverse reads, "Puente, Feb 22, 1927." With warping and creasing, the condition is good overall.
