Description

A snapshot of Allen Cooper and a loaded City Transfer wagon, Los Angeles, ca. 1900s. The image shows Cooper standing next to the wagon, which is piled high with covered goods of an undetermined type. On the side of the wagon is a sign for the company with telephone numbers and a chess board accompanying the motto "Your Next Move." Behind the wagon is a large two-story house, but the location is not known. Cooper's name is faintly written in ink at the bottom margin. On the reverse, but largely covered by album paper residue, is an ink inscription noting that the move was to Long Beach, involved three horse loads, and that canvas was used as the covering. With the aforementioned residue, minor fading, and soiling, the overall condition is good.
