A snapshot of Elizabeth Gowan Workman (1882-1975) at the Chateau d'Azay-le-Rideau, Loire Valley, France, ca. 1910s. Elizabeth married William Henry Workman, Jr. (1874-1951) in 1909. This photograph could have been taken on the Workman honeymoon after their marriage. This photograph depicts Workman standing on the grass lawn of the castle in the background. A pencil inscription on the reverse identifies the location. With minor fading, and warping, the object is in good condition overall.
