Description
A snapshot of Fifth Street east from about Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, ca. early 1920s. The image is taken from an elevated position near where the Central Public Library is now situated and looks down the street towards the building site of the Biltmore Hotel, Pershing Square (at the right), Clune's Auditorium (upper center) and the Auditorium Hotel (left.) In the distance at upper center is the building with the then-library in it. An ink inscription on the reverse gives the location. With minor warping, soiling, and abrasions the condition is good.
