Description
A snapshot of fish on a rack on the beach at Avalon, Santa Catalina Island, 28 February 1901. The view shows the wooden rack with four pulleys at the top and various sized fish hanging suspended from it. Two men are behind the rack at the right. In the distance are portions of buildings along the waterfront and in the hills at the west end of town, including commercial and residential structures. On the reverse in pencil is "18 LB / Sheepshead at / Catalina / Feb. 28, 1901. With a torn lower right corner, warping, abrasions, soiling and album paper residue on the reverse, the condition is fair.
