Description
A snapshot of Japanese and white children playing on John Street, Los Angeles, 26 August 1928. The half-dozen children are on a lawn or dirt area near what is presumed to be the street, with billboards and tall trees in the background, along with portions of structures. On the reverse is an ink inscription in Japanese, as well as the date and address. The house was advertised for "colored people" in 1911 and a Japanese family resided there in the 1930s and 1940s. With creases, warping and light soiling and staining, the overall condition is good.
