Description
A snapshot of Josephine Angarola on a rock in Big Santa Anita Canyon, San Gabriel Mountains, 1914. Angarola stands atop a very large rock as she leans against a smaller one which is on top of it. In her right hand she holds a brace of small trout and in her left a walking stick. At the top right in ink is "a good catch of trout." Angarola is Italian, resided with her wine merchant uncle and his family on W. 35th Street in south Los Angeles. She married Wallace Arguid, a plumber. With minor soiling, discoloration, and album paper residue on the revese, minor creases and warping, the condition is good overall.
