Description
A snapshot of Sunset Beach, Orange County, California, 20 August 1923. Some persons sit on blankets or towels nearest the camera, while tents, umbrellas and other covers are noted in the distance. The ocean is at the right and telephone poles at left appear to follow Pacific Coast Highway. On the reverse is a pen inscription with the date and caption: "Picnic grounds on beach, / Sunset Beach, Orange Co, Calif. / about 10 miles so. of Long Beach." With minor warping, soiling and abrasions, the condition is good overall.
