Description
A snapshot of the Los Angeles County Court House, ca. 1896. The view takes in the main and one side elevation of the Romanesque Revival structure with its center entrance, partially obscured by a widespread palm tree, and the two projecting wides, as well as the domed tower at the center. In the foreground are block retaining walls and wide stairs leading to the building from the street. Inscribed in ink at the top is "Los Angeles Court House." On the reverse is an image of people with rowboats sitting in a fenced yard near a one-story structure, but the location is not known. The main image has some creases, soiling, and three small round stains. There is also moderate fading of the image but the overall condition is good.
