2011.424.1.1Description
A snapshot of the ranch house of H.B. Cline, San Gabriel, California, 21 December 1907. The image is taken from the dirt road in front of the structure, which is a dark wood one-story residence. A young man is mowing the front lawn, while to the sides are groves of trees. There are some ink inscriptions at the top and bottom margins, including "W.A.B." and "Mowing the lawn at H.B. Clines, San Gabriel, Cal. Dec 21, 1907." The message on the reverse from W. A. Butter mentions juicing apricots, amounting to 3 1/2 tons on slightly over an acre in the orchard. With darkening, soiling, and edge abrasions, the overall condition is good.
