Description

A snapshot of the Sanborn residence, Los Angeles, ca. 1925. The view shows a two-story Spanish Colonial Revival house with a tile roof, window awnings, and other details. At the front is a large lawn, a deodar or similar tree, a sidewalk and the curb at the street. At the bottom is an ink inscription: "Home of your cousin Mrs. Chrissie Sanborn / 1718 Virginia Road, Los Angeles, Calif . . ." The house, occupied in 1930 by Chrissie and Alfred Sanborn, the latter once a state deputy surveyor and Los Angeles city clerk, appears to still stand in the Mid-City area of west Los Angeles. With bottom right corner creases, light soiling and minor wear, the condition is overall good .
