Description

A snapshot of Townsend Avenue looking north, Eagle Rock, Los Angeles, 1927. The photographer stood in the street and captured some of the sidewalk and palm trees growing in a grassy margin next to the curb. A few cars are parked along the roadway. In the distance are some of the Verdugo Mountains. A pencil inscription on the reverse identifies the setting and an envelope was included which has ink inscriptions referring to other photos from the Grand Canyon, although the house address for the photographer is on the reverse. There is a significant crease and some light soiling, but the photograph is in good overall condition, while the envelope has some creases, soiling, small stains and light tears and is in fair condition.
