Description
A snapshot of two boys at Hollenbeck Park, Boyle Heights, Los Angeles, ca. 1915. The two wearing suits and ties, with the younger in short pants, as well as caps, stand on the grass next to the lake. Some trees, bushes and part of the boathouse are also in view. On the reverse are two ink inscriptions; one identifies the location and the other the names of the boys: Albert and Curtis, second and third sons of Sam Stofle. The family left Louisiana after 1910 and settled in Vernon, where Sam worked as a railroad motorman. Albert died later in Whittier and Curtis in New Mexico. With a margin stain, light soiling and minor rubbing, the overall condition is good.
