Description
A snapshot photograph of the Plaza Church, Los Angeles, 24 March 1901. The view is from near the Pico House to the southeast and takes in the courtyard wall to the north of the church, part of the edifice's north elevation and the front elevation, including the elevated gazebo and iron cross surmounting the structure. A few pedestrians are on the sidewalk in front and portions of Main Street and structures to the north are in view. The photo is glued onto and held in corner slits to a paper mount, on which is an ink inscription, "Mar 24 the old mission Los Angeles Cal / the church of the City of the Angels." With some browning and soiling to the mount, the condition is good.
