Description

A stereoscopic photo of Temple residence, Rancho La Merced, ca. 1875. There is a row of weeping willow trees on the left and right. The first two girls are Margarita and Lucinda Temple with other unidentified childrren. Margarita wears a plain dress while Lucinda's dress has horizontal stripes at the hem. In the background is a wooden drying rack, a portion of the adobe homewith a picket fence. There is a man standing near the home showing his left profile while a woman stands behind him and an elderly woman next to him. Written in ink at the bottom reads "Temple Rancho" and the number "100" toward the left. On the reverse is an inscription written in ink and pencil but is incomplete due to the image having been cut to a smaller size. With heavy fading fading, minor crease, tearing and delamination, it is in poor condition. The image was trimmed and cut but originally was a stereoview image.
