Description
A stereoscopic photograph of persons in front of two Los Angeles houses, 25 December 1878. There is a man and a woman on the steps of the residence nearer to the photographer, who stood behind a picket fence, and what appears to be a couple and two children, both boys, further away at the second dwelling. The man stands apart and the others are on a porch. Part of a third structure is in the distance. Some landscaping, including shrubs and bushes in front and a large vine on the porch of the nearest building are also notable. On the reverse is an ink inscription: "taken Dec 25th 1878 / view on No 4 vine st / Los Angeles." The location, however, is not clear. With some fading, soiling edge abrasions and mount curvature, the overall condition is good.
