Description
A stereoscopic photograph of the northeast corner of the Ansonia Apartments, Westlake Park, Los Angeles, 3 October 1927. The view is from across Sixth Street at Lake Street and captures some of the south and east elevations, including two persons at a third floor balcony at the latter. Some landscaping at the front side, a large tree at the right and a car parked under the tree are also in view. On the reverse is an ink inscription: "Our bed-room balcony / Ansonia Apts - Sixth & Lake Sts. / Los Angeles / Mon. Oct 3-1927 / Mother C.M.G." The apartment building, designed by Parkinson and Bergstrom and completed in 1915, still stands. With browning on the reverse, minor curvature and slight soiling and edge rubbing, the condition is good.
