Description
A stereoscopic photograph, "Orange Packing," James D. Westervelt, Los Angeles, ca. 1880s. The view was taken inside a wooden packing house. There are four men standing to the right with crates of fruit and a fifth near a pile of oranges, while dozens of other crates are stacked throughout the structure. Another man sits near some crates by an open door at the back. The title is written in ink at the bottom left and an owner's stamp is on the reverse. With soiling, minor stains, and edge abrasions, fading, the overall condition is good.
