Description

A stereoscopic photograph, "Pioneers of the New Dolgeville, Cal., Alhambra, Cal. Dec 25th 1903," Stereo-Photo Co. The view shows ten men and two boys posed near banana palms at the company town established on the former San Gabriel Wine Company property by Henry E. Huntington and Alfred Dolge that, as with the New York forebear, manufactured items from felt. After several years the project foundered and the tract was annexed to Alhambra. With major edge rubbing, a small loss at the bottom of the right image, scratches on the images and soiling, the condition is fair.
