Description
A stereoscopic photograph of High Street looking North, Los Angeles, ca. 1872. The photograph, #173, is by Henry T. Payne. The image shows an elevated view of the street, a wide dirt road with a hill on the left. To the right are a few low, wooden buildings. Two men are standing in the middle of the street. There is a pencil inscription on the front and ink on the reverse. The stereoview is generally in good condition with minor surface soiling, loss to upper left corner, moisture damage along the left.
