Description
A stereoscopic photograph of Buena Vista Street, Los Angeles, ca. 1872. The photograph, is #197 by Henry T. Payne. The stereoview is part of a series, Southern California Scenery. The photograph shows a view looking from Temple Street north. The street, a dirt road, is parallel to Bunker Hill, atop which was the high school. There are a few low buildings with pitched roofs and chimneys on both sides. The stereoview includes a pencil inscription on the front and back. The item is generally in good condition with minor surface soiling, moderate fading and abrasion damage along the corners.
