Description
A stock certificate for the Globe Petroleum Corporation, Los Angeles, 7 November 1928. The item has a vignette of the earth with company name superimposed on it. The certificate has the stamped number and the typed name of the holder, number of shares, date, and signatures of the president and assistant secretary of the company. The company was formed in November 1919 with $1.5 million of capital and had a few dozen wells, most in Kern County and a few in Ventura County. With folds and light soiling and rubbing, the condition is good.
